Overview of the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Product Manager – Retail Pharmacy to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of next-generation digital pharmacy solutions. This role is ideal for a visionary product leader passionate about technology, digital health, and retail pharmacy innovation. You will be at the forefront of redefining how millions of people access prescriptions, manage medications, and engage with pharmacy services.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, UX, marketing, and operations teams to build scalable, compliant, and impactful digital products that enhance prescription fulfillment, medication adherence, and healthcare accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute the digital product roadmap for pharmacy services, including online prescription ordering, medication management, price transparency, and telehealth integrations.
  • Identify customer pain points and market opportunities to modernize prescription fulfillment and improve the pharmacy consumer experience.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes (HIPAA, PBM models), and emerging technologies impacting digital pharmacy.

Product Development & Execution

  • Partner with engineering and UX teams to develop intuitive and secure digital pharmacy solutions across web and mobile platforms.
  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring seamless prescription workflows, payment processing, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy operations, supply chain, and fulfillment teams to optimize digital prescription processing and delivery services.
  • Pioneer AI-driven medication adherence tools, intelligent prescription price comparisons, and seamless insurance-PBM integrations.
  • Implement next-gen security protocols to protect patient data while enabling integrations with EHRs, telehealth platforms, and digital wallets.

Customer Experience & Growth

  • Develop frictionless, intuitive digital experiences that empower patients to access affordable medications anytime, anywhere.
  • Leverage AI-driven recommendations for medication adherence, cost savings, and alternative therapies.
  • Use customer insights, behavioral analytics, and A/B testing to enhance engagement, retention, and conversion rates.
  • Align with marketing and growth teams to drive consumer education, engagement, and adoption of digital pharmacy services.

Compliance & Healthcare Ecosystem Collaboration

  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to HIPAA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Coordinate with PBMs, healthcare providers, and insurance networks to improve prescription pricing and transparency.
  • Ensure digital products integrate with healthcare systems, FHIR, HL7, and EMR/EHR platforms, to enhance interoperability and user experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in digital product management, preferably in retail pharmacy, healthcare, or e-commerce.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy operations, prescription workflows, PBMs, and telehealth integrations.
  • Experience working with FHIR, HL7, and EHR/EMR systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with expertise in growth strategies, A/B testing, and customer journey optimization.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working with engineering teams.
  • Experience with mobile app and web platform development for healthcare/retail.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pharmacy e-commerce platforms or GoodRx-like cost transparency tools.
  • Knowledge of telehealth regulations and digital prescription verification.
  • Prior work with PBM integrations, prescription drug pricing models, or digital health startups.
